Russia completes Shipment Efficiency Assessment with GCEL to maximize on the Digital Economy

Several Russian  officials from government ministries, industry associations, private sector firms and academia gathered in Moscow on October 10, 2017 to commend the completion of the Russia Shipment and Trade Efficiency Assessment (SEA) report.

Organizations represented included Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI),  Skolkovo Foundation, Russian Venture Company (RVC), Vnesheconombank (VEB),  Higher School of Economics and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. (RANEPA)

The Russian SEA was completed in cooperation with GCEL and is a comprehensive diagnostic assessment of trade efficiency based on what technology makes possible today. The findings of the report revealed that by deploying new digital tools, Russia will decrease its trade costs by USD 169 billion, increase trade by USD 343 billion and create 16.1 million jobs. In view of the significant benefits to be realized, 98.8% of Russia’s trade community have signified the want the Digital Economy Platform  tools to better compete in the global market place.
