UAE and GCEL explore the Digital Economy towards industry diversification

His Excellency Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, United Arab Emirates Minister of Economy, hosted a Digital Economy briefing session on October 26, 2017 with a GCEL Delegation led by Dr. Sergio Arzeni, GCEL Executive Member and President of the International Network for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises.

The UAE has established itself as a benchmark for the world through its futuristic “Vision 2021” program which has been a catalyst to create a diversified and knowledge-based economy and meet the challenges faced by the petrol-chemical industry.

Discussions included how the use of new Digital Economy tools to digitize trade activities will create greater efficiency and transparency to de-risk and diversify trade which will build the buying power in mid and low-income countries, creating vast new markets for their high-income country trade partners.
