CHINA TRADE LEADERS AND GCEL COLLABORATE TO ADVANCE THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

August 11, 2014

China’s Top 500 Foreign Trade Enterprises Club and GCEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a national Trade Efficiency Assessment as a foundation for advancing Digital Economy initiatives in China.

The assessment is designed to evaluate current trade practices, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, and define the digital tools needed to support future trade growth and competitiveness.

Representing many of China’s largest corporations, the organization emphasized the importance of innovation and digital transformation in strengthening trade performance and expanding opportunities for Chinese businesses both domestically and internationally.

GCEL highlighted findings from its broader international trade assessments, which revealed strong demand for integrated digital tools that improve efficiency, transparency, and access to global markets.

The initiative is expected to support reductions in trade costs, growth in international trade, and expanded opportunities across technology, finance, insurance, manufacturing, and service sectors.

The agreement also establishes a foundation for broader cooperation among public and private sector stakeholders to advance trade modernization and support long-term economic growth through Digital Economy solutions.
